About me

Hello, I’m Sarah Boucher, a counsellor with a particular interest in supporting people through life and career transitions and with their workplace wellbeing.

I have experienced first-hand the pressures, pushes and pulls of work - including burnout, redundancy and career change - and understand how deeply these experiences, alongside broader life transitions, can affect your sense of identity, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

My focus is on helping you explore the impact your personal or professional circumstances are having on you, especially during times of change or uncertainty, so that you can respond with greater clarity and self-understanding.

If your mental health is suffering as a result of work or study, if you are navigating a significant life transition or a career shift, I offer a supportive, confidential space where you can explore your challenges and consider the best way forward for you.

My experience and qualifications

I work with adults in private practice who are navigating a wide range of personal and work-related challenges.

My recent counselling work has also found me supporting staff and students at Anglia Ruskin University and young people for London Young Counselling.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years in a variety of professional settings - from corporates and SMEs to the public sector, mainly in education and publishing. I’ve worked in commercial roles as well as teaching, tutoring, and providing academic support, so I understand both the pressures of workplace environments and the demands of education.

Having lived and worked abroad, I bring a genuine interest in people and cultures, along with a strong awareness of intercultural issues. This helps me support clients from a wide range of backgrounds with sensitivity and understanding.
