About me

Hello, I’m Sarah Boucher, a counsellor specialising in workplace and academic wellbeing and helping people find a healthier work-life balance.

I have experienced first-hand the pressures, pushes and pulls of work, including burnout, redundancy and career change, and understand how they can impact on your wellbeing.

My focus is on helping you understand the effect your professional or study environment is having on you, so that you can create a more balanced, healthy and sustainable work life.

So, if your mental health is suffering as a result of work or study, if you are facing uncertainty in your career or you are struggling with any personal challenges in the workplace, I am here to offer a supportive, confidential space - some dedicated time to allow you to work through your problems, so that we can find the best way forward for you.

My experience and qualifications

I work with adults in private practice who are navigating a wide range of personal and work-related challenges.

My recent counselling work has also found me supporting staff and students at Anglia Ruskin University and young people for London Young Counselling.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years in a variety of professional settings — from corporates and SMEs to the public sector, mainly in education and publishing. I’ve worked in commercial roles as well as teaching, tutoring, and providing academic support, so I understand both the pressures of workplace environments and the demands of education.

Having lived and worked abroad, I bring a genuine interest in people and cultures, along with a strong awareness of intercultural issues. This helps me support clients from a wide range of backgrounds with sensitivity and understanding.
